Yesterday saw me doing the dishes, vacuuming the furniture, showering and reading an entire book : ) Jim Butcher's Turn Coat, just another excellent one in the series.
If only every day was like that. The windows were open and the smell of lilacs, lily of the valley and woodsmoke kept drifting in, and the cats took their turns on my lap.
Wonderful.
Today will see me grocery shopping. It's not as bad as it use to be... I go into Aldi, whip through the aisles and am done in a half an hour... that includes bagging up the groceries and putting them in the car too.
Then it's off to Shopko to get S. some new jammie shorts. They fall down when he walks, I think it's funny but I imagine the neighbors don't.
And perhaps a trip to the mall to see if there are any good deals.
I'm also going to make my first batch of laundry soap today, since the store bought stuff finally ran out. Two reasons I'm using it; it's cheaper and less waste for the Earth (the packaging is all paper, not plastic like the big jugs of detergent.)
Powdered Laundry Soap:
2 cups finely grated soap (Ivory, Fels Naptha, Zote, homemade, or a combination)
1 cup borax
1 cup washing soda
Mix and store in a coffee can or what have you. Use 1-2 T per load.**
While the laundry is drying on the line, I'll probably putter in the garden. And I really should get some descriptions written for the eBay items.
While you're at it, do my eBay stuff, too.
