I use to always find something at Big Lots, but now it's hit or miss. Yesterday though, it was a hit. In my email I had a 20% off coupon, so on our errands in town we stopped. I found packs of 500 permanent sticky squares from Friskars (I use these to make cards) for $1 plus the coupon made them $.80 per pack. I bought all 11 since I'll be making baby shower invites and renewal of vow invites in the future, besides other cards.
At Michael's they had packs of 250 for $2.29 each, so instead of getting them for $8.80 at Big Lots I would have had to pay $50.38.
Last time I was there I bought the cats some kitty treats. They go crazy for them. So I got the last 9 bottles for $.90 w/ the coupon. At PetSmart they were $2.99 a bottle.
We also picked up a super small video camera (Spyros wanted it for some project), a basket for the kitties to lay in, and a box of 36 granola bars for $5.
We stopped at the bakery discount store and our loaves of Sara Lee wheat bread are usually $1.75 a loaf but they had 4 loaves on the clearance table for $1. Since we have a freezer we got the four loaves.
S. usually just runs in, but last time I went with my mom and checked out the whole store. I had noticed the clearance table, so this time I went in with S. I asked him why he never checks out the clearance, and he said, "He just runs in and grabs what we need."
So the lesson here, every so often take time to explore a store you go to all the time, you never know what new clearance sections they have that you always pass by.
