The Library

I try to push using the library to anyone who will listen. (Disclaimer: I work at a library, but even if I didn't I would still try to get everyone to go.)

You pay for the library with your taxes, so you may as well get the most out of it.
If it's been awhile since you've gone, chances are your library has been upgraded.
Not only are there books to checkout, but magazines, CDs, new release DVDs, software, video games, books on tape and CD, and more.
And of course, don't forget about the computers and access to the internet.

Our library has 4 different story times, children's events on Tuesday, adult movies on Monday, free concerts, lectures, and we even have a theater that seats 250 people.
All of this is free and open to you.

Just have a photo id with current address to get a card, and the world can open up to you. But please, return your items on time (or yes, you will be expected to pay a fine!)

If your library doesn't carry the item you are looking for, there is a good chance it's connected with other libraries in the area, and they can order the item from another library and have it delivered to your library for pick-up.
(Even though I was constantly at the library, I didn't find out about this feature until my late 20's... it saddens me to think of all the books I could have been reading.)

With the current economic situation there is no better time to use the library. So hurry, go today!!!
